Our Seward Hotel, Hotel Seward Welcomes Wes!

Mar 7, 2011

The Hotel Seward is happy to welcome Wes Oetinger on board for the 2011 season. Wes is going to be helping us at Hotel Seward with activities for our guests. Wes has over 20 years of guiding experience and is the premier river bank/shore fishing guide in Seward Alaska. Wes is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys hunting and fishing year round. He will also be running Wild Wes fishing Adventures for the 2011 season, May- Sept.

Seward Alaska has always been the place to catch large fish (Halibut and Lingcod), but not all people can stand the rough seas and constant rocking of the boats. If this is your situation or you just enjoy river fishing, we at Hotel Seward have the solution. Come fish on the Black Beaches for Sockeye (Reds), Coho (slivers), Chinook (King) Salmons and the egg eating Dolly Vardens in beautiful Resurrection Bay. Or, fish one of the numerous river mouths dumping crystal clear mountain water into the Ocean, while millions of fish fight their way (past you if you do not know what to do or what to look for) up stream for miles, to eventually get eaten by a bear, spawn and then die. Well we at Hotel Seward pride ourselves in helping them along to their inevitable future, Trophies and Cuisine. Catching these species on land is completely different than on water (boat) and requires some hiking, wading (some tides are higher than others), and the general love for the outdoors.  There is a $15 fee for rental of waders and you get one set of terminal tackle. Each type of fish requires different techniques, gear, and rules to insure that you are catching all day and not fishing all day. If Fly Fishing is what you would like to do, we offer that also.

Prices are as follows; $175 for a full day, and $100for half day of Seward Alaska fishing in per person. No tackle is needed and beginners are welcome, as well as Professionals.  Contact Wes or Tim at 1-800-440-2444 or 1-907-224-8001 and we would be more than happy to get your future Seward Alaska fishing trip, on the calendar. Thank you and we look forward to hearing from you. H.S. and Tim.
