Alaska Sealife Center’s FREEzing Wednesdays are a Short Walk from historic Hotel Seward

Jan 16, 2018

Historic Hotel Seward, Alaska’s premiere boutique hotel, offers lush accommodations and fine dining a very short walk from the Alaska Sealife Center. After an exciting day of learning and fun, rest easy in one of our Alaska Wing Deluxe or Executive rooms. Enjoy fine dining or a hearty breakfast in historic Hotel Seward’s Victorian lounge and restaurant, Ms. Gene’s Place.

The Alaska SeaLife Center invites Alaska residents to take advantage of FREEzing Winter Wednesdays when planning their winter excursions. Every Wednesday from November 1, 2017 through February 28, 2018, Alaska residents receive free general admission to the Alaska SeaLife Center upon presentation of a valid ID. Visitors 12 years of age and under must be accompanied by an adult.

In addition to the free admission on FREEzing Winter Wednesdays, you can add a special Tour or Experience to your Alaska Sealife Center adventure. The tours offered by the Alaska SeaLife Center are conducted by interpretive and animal care staff to pass on knowledge and understanding of Alaska’s marine ecosystems while providing unforgettable opportunities for animal interaction and observance. Here are a few examples of the Tours and Experiences on offer:

Avian Experience – Join one of the education birds and their trainer to learn how diving sea birds are adapted to a life below the waves.

Marine Mammal Encounter – Join members of the animal care staff and go behind the scenes to find out what it is like to care for and train the resident marine mammals. You will experience enrichment and training sessions on this popular tour.

Octopus Encounter – Shake hands with a giant Pacific octopus during a feeding session and learn more about these mysterious and intelligent invertebrates from a member of the animal care team.
